Les Remparts is perfectly positioned for multifaious activities to meet all tastes. For example, it is less than one hour from the vibrant city of Bordeaux, with many fine restaurants, La Grand Theatre, and Promenade Sainte Catherine, the longest shopping street in Europe. The coast at Arcachon and Cap Ferret is a little further, boasting its famous oyster beds and beaches, such as Plage de L’Horizon. It is twenty minutes from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St Emilion, ten minutes from the Château de Montaigne, home of the great French philosopher, Michel de Montaigne, surrounded by vineyards for wine tasting (trips can be organised) and close to the Dordogne river, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, for water based activities.
